Our group is conducting research to improve performance by surface modification through coating various organic-inorganic materials on each battery element.
We formed the protective layer and adhesive layer on the separator to improve cell performance by maintaining interfacial contact with the electrode even with gas generated during cycling.
In addition, we improved cell performance at high voltage operation by forming a protective layer on the electrode or coating a conductive material which shows a synergetic outcome from the enhanced electronic/ionic conductivity.
Our surface modification technique has a promising application in high-voltage lithium ion batteries.
